Welcome Integrity: Hospitality

Body
“Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.” _ Hebrews 13:2 Five years ago my dear husband Dan underwent a successful stem cell replacement at MD Anderson in Houston. It was only possible with the blessings of the Hospitality Apartments. They just asked for $100, and that is what I happened to have in my wallet.

With no warning!

We had been to Lufkin and now we were on the way home. It seemed like there was an awful lot of traffic for a country highway. But, it was Friday and close to five o’clock. So, I just figured it was because of that. Many people work in the city and live in the country. There had been some construction near here, on the way up. I was watching for it. But, the oil was wet on the other side of the road, now. We were driving on what was wet oil on the way to Lufkin. So, I thought they must have finished up and gone home.

Welcome Integrity: Happiness

Body
I remember receiving an invitation to a party that said “EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED.” I felt uneasy. And that’s how it feels now in our country. Trust has been tested beyond its boundaries, and what I know that I didn’t know... has not reached everybody, yet. I am told soon I will know a lot more, and that even those of us in the know will be stunned. I am bracing for the shocks.

Fincher’s Corner

“I am the light of the world…” John 8:12 When I bought my first “good camera” in 1975, I soon saw I’d have to learn some things to use it. When I asked Photographer Ron Newton what book I should read to get started, I was a bit puzzled when he said, “Get a good book on ‘Light’”. Figuring a book like that would only slow me down, I ignored his suggestion and it was a decision I would live to regret.

Surprises!

I was resting in my recliner, when I received a text message. It was from my Oklahoma son in love. He said, “We are all here, going out to eat. Come join us.” What? Is this a joke? I can’t just drive to Oklahoma, to eat out with my family. I could never drive that far, anyway.
