Who has your mouth?

Body So often the fiery darts of the enemy are launched from the mouths of “believers.” “Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” (Mt. 12:34) Our hearts are the soil in which our futures are grown.

The County Parson

Body This week, I had to do something I hadn't done before: go to the bank and deal with fraud in my checking account. Someone tried to write a check for $1800 from my account. Fortunately, I didn't have that much money in my account, and I was a little provoked by this incident.

Relationship

Body They told me that I wouldn’t need a driver, after my test. But, the last fifteen minutes were rough. I was lying in an uncomfortable position, with an empty stomach. After the third stick, she finally got the IV started. Then, at the end she had put something in the IV.

Your attitude might be the problem

Body I have determined to stop complaining. I refuse to give in to a bad attitude. I have chosen to be thankful and expectant in the goodness of God. When Israel was delivered from Egypt, they quickly grew weary of God’s intervention to save them and chose to complain.

Welcome Integrity: Hospitality

Body “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.” _ Hebrews 13:2 Five years ago my dear husband Dan underwent a successful stem cell replacement at MD Anderson in Houston.

The County Parson

Body The Gracious Mistress of the Parsonage and her wonderful husband celebrate 53 years of marital bliss this year. What an accomplishment.

The County Parson

Body I've lived long enough to realize that things usually go their own way. I may want something to go one way, but eventually, it all boils down to going the other way.

With no warning!

Body We had been to Lufkin and now we were on the way home. It seemed like there was an awful lot of traffic for a country highway. But, it was Friday and close to five o’clock. So, I just figured it was because of that. Many people work in the city and live in the country.

Welcome Integrity: Happiness

Body I remember receiving an invitation to a party that said “EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED.” I felt uneasy. And that’s how it feels now in our country. Trust has been tested beyond its boundaries, and what I know that I didn’t know... has not reached everybody, yet.

Fincher’s Corner

Body “I am the light of the world…” John 8:12 When I bought my first “good camera” in 1975, I soon saw I’d have to learn some things to use it. When I asked Photographer Ron Newton what book I should read to get started, I was a bit puzzled when he said, “Get a good book on ‘Light’”.
