Hidden Treasures!

Body
For several mornings, I have been spending time on my front porch. I have had a bout with my allergies and so haven’t felt like doing a lot of chores. Normally, I am very conscious of the value of time. Therefore, each day, I feel like I have to accomplish a few things. Now, I am learning the value of recharging. My phone has to be recharged regularly. Now, I realize and have to admit, my body does, too.

“….you’ll have treasure in heaven..” Luke 18:22 Gordon was San Augustine Texas’ finest truck farmer. He farmed in the Patroon Creek bottom and occasionally on the old Horne place. He taught me to drive a tractor, tie turnip greens with bear grass and know when a watermelon is ripe.

Welcome Integrity

Body
It seems the world is upside down. Smirks and stares from three unexpected elderly women, gave way to opening a new gate. Welcome to the world of unfulfilled dreams. The bitterness rivals the resentment exercised as a mastered skill.

Why?

Body
by Louise Bishop I was sitting on my front porch, gently moving the swing, with my foot. Looking out at the beauty surrounding me. Thankful to live in the country. As I sat there; I pondered many things.

'And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God.' Ecclesiastes 3:13 When I was a college ministerial student, I was invited to preach at the Neuville Baptist Church near Center, Texas. It was a 'Half-time Church' meeting on the first and third Sundays of each month. I was already preaching on the second and fourth Sundays at the Patroon Baptist Church, another 'Half-Time Church'. So these two half-time churches now had me…a half-grown Baptist preacher…. preaching for them.
