I had been out to run some errands. I felt a sense of accomplishment; that I had gotten them done. One of the things, that I had to do was pick up, my prescriptions. Since one of them comes in a large box; they had put them all in a paper bag. As I struggled to pick up them, my purse and my cane, the paper sack tore open and my medicine was falling out. Then, the horn started blowing. Oh not! I just couldn’t, get to the key fob. Maybe starting it will make it stop. I started the motor. It just kept blaring. I turned it off. If it doesn’t stop soon; my neighbors will think it’s an emergency. Finally, it stopped. Thank God.

What I enjoy the most about holidays is the “eating frenzy.” It gives me opportunity to get away with a lot behind The Gracious Mistress of the Parsonage’s back, which is a great challenge. I’m not always successful, but I try and I have my family to thank for that.

I was having a good day. My age and health give me many days, that require a lot of rest. I had been busy doing chores; that had been neglected, a long time. I had accomplished some things that; I really wanted to do.

Unbelief is a cancer that is often disguised as “deeper thinking” or “wisdom”. Unbelief relegates the power and the promises of God from “yes and amen”, to “sometimes but probably not”. Unbelief creates a mysterious God of control who orchestrates and allows human suffering for His divine reasons. Unbelief dismisses the power of the Holy Spirit and the covenant of healing because those truths require faith in the unseen. Unbelief has chosen to accept and dwell in what is seen and criticize those who walk in the Spirit. The message of doubt and unbelief sees no one healed. Don’t be seduced. Jesus said, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23)

As far back as I can remember, I wanted to be a writer. My maternal grandmother wrote poems and would read one at the family gathering.

I woke up to total darkness. I could tell I was in my bed. But, where were the lights that I always leave on? And why wasn’t the security light burning? Then, I remembered. I had gotten a notice from the electricity company, the day before. They were going, to be doing some work and the power would be off for two hours. My flashlight was beside my bed. Nothing to worry about. So, I just went back to sleep.

One thing I have learned in life is that for many people, truth is a relative thing. The truth is what they say it is, and you can't convince them otherwise.

“the word of the truth. . . the gospel. . . brings forth fruit, as it does also in you, since the day you heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth” (Col. 1:5-6) Did you know that everything about the gospel speaks of increase and empowers people to prosper? At the same time, everything about Satan and the corruption of the world tends toward loss, separation and poverty. The spirit of control in many governments seeks to separate people from abundance, creativity, personal freedom and personal responsibility. Many religions do the same. Religions of ‘sovereignty’ make man a pawn and victim of a mysterious God who controls all things. Religions of legalism pronounce curses on any behavior or activity that is outside the boundaries of their creed, thus empowering guilt to steal, kill and destroy the life of the believer.

My two sisters and I rode along the road, to our other sister’s house. They had met me at Kirbyville. We then rode together to Evadale. There, we would visit with our other sister and eat together. Fall leaves adorned the trees along the road. We exclaimed, over their beauty. It was a perfect day.
