George Terry Mohr, bom on November 17, 1957, in Harris County to Carl Mohr and Georgell Murray Mohr, passed away on September 3,2024, at the age of 69 in Hemphill. George spent his early years in Houston before moving to Bronson, where he lived for the last seven years. George was a dedicated tow truck driver, a career that spanned several decades, showcasing his commitment to aiding those in roadside distress. He also worked for Yellow Cab Company as a mechanic.

IElizabeth Harley Fore, affectionately known as Aunt Cootie, passed away on September 7, 2024, in Pineland, at the age of 92. Born on September 25, 1931, in Pineland, to William Harley and Minnie Bell Mc-Clelland Harley, she dedicated her life to her family as a loving housewife and mother. Elizabeth's life was marked by her commitment to caring for her family and her community. She was a lifelong member of the Strickland Crossing Church of God, where she was deeply involved in various church activities. Elizabeth found joy in quilting, a hobby that not only brought her personal satisfaction but also warmth and comfort to those around her.

Michael Hudson Gray, aged 19, of Hemphill, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in Hemphill. He was bom September 26, 2004, in Jasper, to his loving parents, Michael Wayne Gray and Jennifer Stanley, Hudson was known for his great sense of humor and his ambitious and determined nature. He enjoyed living his life to the fullest. After attending Hemphill High School, Hudson worked as an apprentice for JJ Farrier Services. His work ethic was unmatched, often seen working and learning various side trades. Beyond his professional life, Hudson was passionate about the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing, which were among his favorite activities.

Robert Gervus Eaves, born on July 1, 1944, in Glenmora, Louisiana to Gervus Eaves and Ferrell Goins Eaves, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the age of 80 in Lufkin. A resident of Hemphill, for the past seven years, Robert had an extensive career as an oilfield consultant, reflecting his years of living in various places influenced by the oilfield industry. Robert was a member of Camp Springs Baptist Church, where he engaged with his community and faith. Darren Lynn Porter, 56, of the Six Mile Community of Hemphill, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024 in Houston. He was born June 11, 1968 in Port Arthur, to Timothy Porter and Sharon Kent. Darren loved his family, music, fishing and thrifting. An avid sports fan, his support for the Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Astros, the Texas Longhorns and the Hemphill Hornets was over the top as was his love for his community.

Mary Faith Griffin (née Erwin), age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2024, in Cedar Park. Born on November 18, 1940, in Hemphill, Faith was the cherished daughter of John Preston Erwin, Sr. and Clemence Eloise Buckley Erwin. To her family and close friends, Faith was lovingly known as “Toady.” A proud graduate of Hemphill High School, Faith played the clarinet in the school band. She furthered her education at Lamar University and built a successful career as an accountant. Known for her meticulous attention to detail and unwavering dedication, Faith earned the respect and admiration of both colleagues and clients.
