Jack 'Larry' Elliott, 79, of Pineland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at his home. He was born on July 3, 1945, in Center, to Amos Elliott and Madena Neil Elliott. Jack was a dedicated and hardworking man, working at Brown and Root to the Sawmill in Wiergate, before retiring from Temple Inland. Jack met the love of his life, Patsy, and together they had three children, Stephanie, Stacy and Elbert. Jack's hobbies were fishing, hunting, and teaching his grandsons how to be hard workers by teaching them how to work on lawnmowers to tilling and planting gardens and target practicing. The love he had for his granddaughters was like no other. He was one spoiled Pawpaw from his grandbaby, Mallory. She cooked and baked him his favorite foods, especially his German Chocolate Cake.

Lynn P. Smith

Lynn P. Smith, 69, passed away on September 15, 2024, in Hemphill. Born on May 27, 1955, in Fort Meade, Florida, she was the daughter of Joseph Dallas Prine and Lucille Eures Prine. Lynn was a dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse until her retirement, after which she devoted herself to caring for her family. A resident of Sabine County for 12 years and formerly of Channelview, Lynn was known for her deep love for her family. Her warm and caring nature made her beloved by all who met her, and her love for her sons was particularly profound.

Belinda Conn Reynolds

Belinda Conn Reynolds, a cherished member of the Bronson community and a devoted mother, passed away at the age of 68 on September 7, 2024, in Bronson. Born on November 4, 1955, at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, she was the beloved daughter of James (Jimmy) Henry Conn and Mozelle Dickerson Conn. Belinda spent her formative years attending West Sabine High School and later furthered her education at Angelina College. She dedicated many years of her career to serving as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) before her retirement, a role in which she touched many lives with her care and compassion.

Born on July 16, 1942, in Dallas, Diana dedicated her life to her family and her faith, serving as a faithful servant of God and an integral part of her community and church for over 25 years. Known for her warm and welcoming nature, Diana never met a stranger and was a friend to all. Her zest for life and infectious laughter brought joy to those around her. She embraced her role as a housewife and mother, nurturing her family with love and dedication. She often said if you left her house hungry, it was your own fault. Diana left her mark of love in a huge way and she will be greatly missed.

Terry Paul Brittain

Terry Paul Brittain, 59, of Hemphill, passed away on September 14, 2024. Born on June 13, 1965, in Jasper, Terry dedicated much of his life to serving his community and his faith as a pastor at Oakhill Baptist Church. Professionally, Terry worked as a millwright with GE Beaumont, where he was respected for his expertise and dedication. His commitment to his work was paralleled by his devotion to his family and faith. Terry is survived by his loving wife, Dianne Brittain of Six Mile; sons, Terry Brittain, Jr. and his wife Jera of Fairmount, and Douglas Brittain and his wife Courtney of Six Mile; brothers, David Rousse of Hemphill and Nary Brittain of Nebraska; sisters, Seba Rivers and Marlene Mavigliano, both of Nebraska. He was also a cherished grandfather to Blake, Caycen, Elijah, Tori, and Raylan Brittain.

Mozelle Conn

Mozelle Conn (née Dickerson), aged 87, passed away on September 10, 2024, in Bronson. Born on April 28, 1937, in Bronson, to Louis and Lilly Truss Dickerson, Mozelle spent her entire life as a member of the Sabine County community. Throughout her life, Mozelle was known for her strong work ethic, having held various jobs across the county. Mozelle was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Conn, and her daughter, Belinda Reynolds.

Mary Marguerite 'Molly' Stuart, 88, of Pineland, passed away on September 4, 2024, at Legacies Nursing and Rehab in Hemphill. She was bom on May 21, 1936, in Los Angeles, California, to Peter Stupin and Josephine Wesche. Molly spent her career as a machine operator before retiring and moving to Pineland, in 2001. She had spent most of her adult life in Galveston and Houston, enriching the lives of those around her in each community she called home.

Orelle Baker Hinton

Orelle Baker Hinton, 96, was called home to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 7, 2024, from Legacies Nursing Home in Hemphill. She died peacefully with her daughters at her side. She was a woman who feared and praised the Lord. Her children rise up and call her blessed. She was born a premature baby in her parent’s bedroom on their dairy farm in Stonewall, Louisiana and grew up there. Orelle married Paul Hinton (who called her “Baby”) before their final year at Louisiana Tech in Ruston. They settled in Pasadena where she, as the perfectionist that she was, was the picture-perfect midcentury wife and mother, preparing from scratch three meals a day, cleaning, sewing. The family was active at Memorial Baptist Church.
