Kim Rhame (President), T A Lane (V-President), and Janice Giley (Secretary) crunch numbers to see where they can find help to re-open the recently closed doors of the Pineland Activity & Nutrition Center. Phil Yoakum announced the closing and that he was seeking financial help from grants, and Sabine County, to at least be able to re-open some of the services, especially the home bound folks that need it the most. Hoping for some good news soon! Reporter

Texas hay season looks bleak

Hay bales could be in short supply as much of the state has reported poor forage and hay production conditions as the season . Joe Paschal, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension livestock specialist, Corpus Christi, and Vanessa Corriher-Olson, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension forage specialist, Overton, said dry weather, high temperatures and reduced inputs like fertilizer have inhibited warm-season grass production across much of Texas.
