The Family Crisis Center of East Texas is thrilled to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our Spring 2024 Sexual Assault Volunteer Advocates! Congratulations to the dedicated graduates of the Sexual Assault Volunteer Advocate Training (SAVA) program.

Sabine County Hospital representatives had the honor of attending the Workforce Solutions Career Connection Hiring event hosted by Hemphill High School. They were able to spread awareness about essential roles that are in high demand as well as current job opportunities. If you have interest in the medical field, we recommend looking into Medical Laboratory Technician or Radiology Technician curriculum. Both require Associate Degrees and are in high demand!

CASA and several volunteers from the Sabine County Child Welfare board held a vigil at the Courthouse on Thursday evening, April 25th in remembrance of the 173 children that have died from child abuse in Texas recently. No children died in Sabine County thankfully, but two in the East Texas region did, so there were two white balloons released in their honor.

Lady Tigers are headed into round two after winning against Big Sandy Dallardsville. They will now face Shelbyville in Nacogdoches Thursday at 6 pm with game 2 on Saturday at 2 p.m. If needed, game 3 will be played at 4 pm.
