James Thomas Blackburn, affectionately known as Uncle Thomas, passed away on May 23, 2026, in Hemphill, at the age of 86. Born on December 13, 1939, in Haskell, to Joe and Alma (Pitman) Blackburn, he lived a life marked by devotion to his family and his passions. Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dena; his parents, Joe and Alma; his brothers, Reggie and Wayne; and his nieces, Sarah and Pam. He leaves behind a loving family, including his sister-in-law, Janice Blackburn; nieces and nephews, Susie and Mike Zanolin of Aquilar, Colorado, Patsy and Charles Dickerson of Milam, Little Wayne and Stacey of Center, Regina and Mike Suniga of Terrell, Robbie Blackburn of Mesquite, Roy Spears of Hemphill, and Timmy Davis of Milam; and numerous greatnieces and great-nephews.

Robert Henry Hamilton, a lifetime resident of Hemphill, passed away on May 19, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on June 13, 1939, in Hemphill, to Henry Jefferson Hamilton and Eula Mae Retherford Hamilton, he led a life marked by community involvement and a love for his family. A proud graduate of Hemphill High School, Class of 1958, Robert was a heck of an athlete, particularly excelling in football. Shortly after graduating, he married his lifelong love, Frances June Easley. The couple enjoyed 57 years of marriage, filled with love and mutual support, until her passing.

Moore was born September 28, 1939. Shirley is survived by her two sons; Caster Moore of San Augustine, and Clinton Moore (Annie) of Magnolia, eight grandchildren; Timothy Malone, Caster Dewayne Moore (Scelest), Cyreetha Garrett (Zach), Christopher Moore, Cardell Moore, Cortdarius Moore, Clinton Moore (Paris), and Miracle Moore, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. As well as a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A lifelong resident of Sabine County and a 1978 graduate of Hemphill High School, Rhonda dedicated many years of her career as a secretary in the insurance sector. Rhonda was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hemphill, where her involvement went beyond mere attendance, reflecting her deep faith and commitment to her community.

Mrs. Mammie Odell Ruth Henson was born February 15, 1947. Survived by her sons; Alonzo Clack (Joyce) of Desoto, and Abbott Clack (Betty) of Houston, daughter: Andria Clack of Fort Worth, ten grandchildren, fifteen great- grandchildren, and one great-great grandchildren, and special niece Armanda Johnson (LeJon) of Minden, LA. As well as, a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
