Body
As December settles over Sabine County, the longleaf pines take on a softer look— each needle catching the glow of porch lights and Christmas decorations that sparkle from Geneva, Milam, Hemphill, Pineland and Brookeland. You can feel Christmas coming here long before the calendar catches up. It arrives in the sound of church bells, in the smell of woodsmoke drifting across FM 83, and in the familiar faces bundled up in jackets at the parade and other holiday gatherings.
