Respecting Wildlife in Six Mile: A Reminder for Our Community

A recent gator sighting in Six Mile, just before the bridge near the park area, has sparked concern—not because the animal was aggressive, but because of the behavior of some people nearby. The alligator was simply in its natural habitat, where it belongs, but witnesses reported individuals throwing rocks at it and disturbing the animal.

Over the past several weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to sit in on meetings with her, visit local marinas and restaurants, discuss visibility for Sabine County, and hear firsthand the vision she has for the future of our area.
