Commissioners and County Officials Help with Food Distribution

Lined up down the street and ready for produce, Sabine County residents come out for this week's much anticipated food distribution. County officials, Commissioners, Sheriff's Office and Candidates volunteer to help pack and sort. What a great opportunity to serve the community. Distribution is located at the Sabine County's Farmers Market and began at 10a.m. Tuesday, February 3rd.

Commissioners Court Tackles Post-Storm Recovery and Major Property Acquisition

Resilience and community spirit took center stage Tuesday morning as the Sabine County Commissioners Court gathered for a rescheduled meeting following the recent winter storm. Judge Daryl Melton opened the session with a prayer of gratitude, specifically praising the recovery and return of Justice of the Peace Roger Gay and the tireless work of local linemen and neighbors who supported one another during the freezing temperatures and power outages.

SRA’s Sabinetown Recreation Area expected completion in Spring of 2026

Construction is well underway at the Sabine River Authority’s (SRA) Sabinetown Recreation Area on Toledo Bend and is expected to be completed in Spring of 2026. The $16 million project will feature a six-lane boat ramp in a deepwater protected cove, parking for approximately 300 trucks and trailers, a large tournament-style pavilion, public restrooms, and additional amenities. The facility is designed to accommodate recreational boating and fishing, regional tournaments, and professional fishing events.
