Suspect Arrested After Bronson Cemetery Road Shooting; Multi-Agency Investigation Ongoing

The Sabine County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the arrest of a Bronson man following a multi-day, multiagency investigation that began with a reported shooting Sunday night, February 22, 2026, on Bronson Cemetery Road. According to a series of press releases from the Sheriff’s Office, deputies were notified around 8:15 p.m. Sunday that a shooting had occurred at a residence on Bronson Cemetery Road. Upon arrival, deputies located a small pool of blood in the driveway, but no individuals were present at the scene.

On Saturday, February 21, 2026, The Tw i s t e d Shear welcomed clients and friends for a fun and festive Galentine’s celebration at their salon in Hemphill. The event featured $20 blowouts and styled looks, with every customer entered into a drawing for a dupe Bogg Bag packed full of goodies.

The Sabine County Reporter has been authorized to announce the candidacies of the below named persons for the offices named subject to action in the March 3, 2026 Primary elections. The announcement fee (which must be paid in advance) includes a statement and photograph to run one time. Fees are $200. The name on the calendar runs each week until the election.

Human Remains Found Inside Burned Truck

Sabine County Sheriff's Office reports that the Chambers County Sheriff's Office was dispatched over night to a vehicle fire under a river bridge near mile marker 805 on Interstate 10. Local fire departments extinguished the fire and located burned human remains inside the vehicle. Chambers County Sheriff's Office was dispatched and the body taken to the Jefferson County Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy. The recovered vehicle matches the year model and coloring of the victim's missing truck.

Warrants Issued: Search Underway After Reported Shooting on Bronson Cemetery Road

The Sabine County Sheriff's Office has obtained an arrest warrant for Todd Stevens of Bronson, Texas for the offense of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The warrant is now entered into the State and National data bases.

The Sheriff would also remind everyone that Stevens is considered armed and dangerous and if he is seen or makes contact with anyone, that those persons should immediately contact their local law enforcement.
