My First Ice Cream

Body I woke up at 2:00 this morning and recalled something that happened to me years ago…. in Center, Texas. My earliest life memories began when I was three years old and I ate my first ice cream on June 19th of that year.

Star Lilies

Body It was one of the sweetest funerals, that I have ever attended. Her family and friends had gathered, for this final farewell. We were assured, that this sweet lady, had made Heaven, her new home. She had lived a life, of serving God.

New Year, Crying for their babies

Body I was puttering around in the kitchen. Thinking about all that needs to be done. Now that the holidays are past; things need to be changed or packed away. The uneaten food must be frozen or other wise taken care of.

Broom Lore

Body The lowly broom has been around our civilization for centuries. It is said that Benjamin Franklin introduced broomcorn to the United States in 1725.

Body Thanksgiving afternoon found us all stuffed and sleepy. But, after a while, one of my daughters, began to dig out the Christmas stuff. For many years, my kids and their kids, had put my Christmas tree up, at this time.

So special and unforgettable...

Body I was Pastor of The First Baptist Church of Shelbyville, Texas when Mother called me from Center saying that she had invited Joe and Mimi Boland to attend our church. “They live at the Old Center community a few miles from Joaquin”, she said.
