by George Ross We have looked at III John 1:2- a prayer and greeting from John, “Beloved, I_pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve learned that the condition of your soul determines the material prosperity and physical health of us all. The first principal we looked at to ensure a prosperous soul for the believer was rest.

We had just finished a delectable lunch and made our way back into the church auditorium. I’d never been to a LAMPS conference before. But, I instinctively knew I’d want to attend. At a church nearby, it was for ladies in general and those, that have been abused, in particular. Believe me, these ladies knew how to worship the Lord! They definitely were over-comers!

Continuing in our study of elders in the New Testament church, it becomes necessary for us to become familiar with three distinct terms that apply to elders of the church. Today we will begin this study by looking at the terms, “elders” and “bishops.” To begin with, the term “elder” or “elders” is from the Greek word “presbuteros,” and simply means “an older man” selected during the time of Moses that were charged with various decisions about the nation of Israel’s government (Numbers 11:25).

My kids have a pick up; that is pretty high off the ground. But, with the help of a little folding stool; I was able to climb in. I could not have done this so easily, just a few weeks, ago. Continual therapy, helped make this possible.
