I was celebrating and eating an Apple Fritter. I'm not sure what I was celebrating at the time, but it doesn't matter as long as I'm celebrating with an Apple Fritter. Life has its way of opening up doors of celebration.

When we devote an area to cultivate that which we desire to grow, we breathe our intentions quite visibly. Our space speaks of our hearts’ desires. Unselfishly giving of our talents, may well cultivate riches for the masses.

When I was young, we did not have a TV in our home. My parents did not think it was important, so we listened to the radio instead. I love the Saturday morning radio shows, Popeye the Sailor Man, particularly. Then something big happened that changed our lives.

Dearest Chris Cox reminds me, “No rush.” Dearest Brenda Guidry advises “Read your articles three times before submitting.” Their clear communication has stuck, but I falter and apologize. Carol Burnett said, “Words, once they are printed, have a life of their own.”

I was seated, in my usual pew, at church. It was during the worship part, of the service. As they sung, I suddenly remembered; what God had done for me, recently. Such joy welled up in me; I could hardly contain it!

Every so often, something happens reminding me of my father, who passed away over 16 years ago. Thinking back, he was the epitome of frugality. If I were to look up in the dictionary the meaning of frugality, I would not be surprised to find my father's name.

The wind has forcefully arrived to bend the branches and wave the leaves. The birds have taken cover.

I was on the way home, from Sunday morning church. It was a beautiful day, bright and sunny.

After several months of mayhem in our house, things began to quiet down. It was beginning to get back to our normal way of life.

Commemorating Memorial Day brings to mind the brave who perished for the freedom in our nation. It is a solemn memorial we respect. Veterans bow their heads knowing more than we who have not filled their boots. To them, we say, “Thank you for your service.”
