Curtis and Phylis Buckner of VFW Post 10351 present a beautiful wall hanging American flag birthday present to Airman Otis Rhodes during his 65th birthday party at Hemphill Care Center on August 24th. Several other members of the VFW Post 10351 and residents of HCC were on hand to help celebrate Airman Rhodes’s birthday party and to enjoy his “favorite” German Chocolate cake with cold milk and juice. The VFW’s goal is to provide birthday parties for as many veterans as possible who are residents in the local area nursing and care centers. Happy Birthday Airman Rhodes!

With visiting dignitaries present, including members of the Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce, Angelina College on Thursday held a ribboncutting ceremony to launch its new Network Administration Program scheduled to start with the upcoming new semester.

A memorial service honoring Haynes Dugger was held by his neighbors, friends and family at El Camino Bay Pavillion on Wednesday. It was well-attended and laughs and love were among the memories shared.
