This time of forced confinement has given me lots of time to think. I thought back to many years ago. My (now deceased) husband and I were empty nesters and we decided to travel, a bit. He had always loved panning for gold in Colorado. But, there was something similar, lots closer to home.

Hemphill First United Methodist Church hosted Vacation Bible School the week of June 13-17. The theme of the Bible School was “Food Truck Party: On a Roll with God. The theme Bible verse was Matthew 6:11 “Give us Lord our daily bread. The Bible School averaged 40 children each day in attendance.

HE’S MY FATHER Father’s Day is Sunday which is a time for all of us to reflect upon our fathers. So often times fathers don’t seem as important as mothers but the truth is God designed it so we each have a father and a mother.

Dear Father, As we think about Father’s Day coming up on Sunday we are reminded of the greatest father in You our heavenly Father. We are so thankful that regardless of what happens to us here on earth we have a Father willing to take care of us.
