Hemphill ISD has partnered with Edeska Barnes, Juvenile Probation Director out of Jasper that also serves Sabine, San Augustine and Newton, and Champion Oaks Ranch to serve our At-Risk Junior High and High School students by offering Equine Therapy every other Thursday at the Sabine County Youth Rodeo Arena. This program is made possible by donors just like you. Baseball - Triston McGowan Texas Lutheran University was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Pitcher of the Week, his first of his career. The junior from Vidor led TLU on the mound in the series finale to clinch the sweep of Centenary on Feb. 16 when he retired 13 of the first 16 batters he faced,tossing his first career complete game and recording a career-best 11 strikeouts.

Thank you to the Hemphill VFW_Post #10351 for hosting Hemphill Class of 2025 Project Graduation Bingo on Sunday. The community support was outstanding and the crowd of players was the largest amount of players to date. Thank you to everyone who came to play.

The Lady Tigers would open district play on March 14 vs. Hemphill, but they would first round out their non district slate vs. Brookeland on March 10. The ladies got off to a hot start as they jumped out to a 2-0 lead as freshman Khloe Mattingly went deep off of Brookeland starter Paige Powell.

To make time each day to thank Him for all that is magnificent in His creation, means we care, we recognize, and are grateful for His infinite wisdom. The discipline of having a time in prayer, communication with our Lord, is our best call to realizing His will. How many times were we certain only to find out we were wrong? The tests given before the lessons are the ones taken without instructions! Could I have chosen to be read the Bible growing up as a heavenly guide to discernment, I would have taken it. Getting passed the past requires a solemn time alone with our Lord.

I didn’t tell them that once I waited for 20 minutes and missed my flight. When I complained to the company, they gave me enough points for about a week of free visits, but that didn’t make up for the lost time with my son in Chicago.
