Catina Lynn Brady

Catina Lynn Brady, 56, of Hemphill, passed away Aug. 28, 2022, at Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill. She was born on May 31, 1966, in Munich, Germany, to Cary Thomas (CT) Ferguson, Jr., and Shirley Thelma Clark Ferguson. She was a long time resident of Sabine County and had worked in the construction field as a welder. She attended Word of God Church in Pineland. She is survived by her companion, Charles Payne of Hemphill; daughter, Kimberly Lynn Bragg of Hemphill; sister, Angela Kay McElroy of Madisonville; and seven grandchildren.

Alice in the Wonderland...

The Actors Studio hosted The Alice in the Wonderland Experience this weekend and was a great play featuring an all kids cast. 7 kids played 13 different roles, and did a great job. The Cast included River McDonell as Alice, Charles Watson as Lewis Carroll & Rabbit, Charlolette Thompson as Cheshire Cat & Storyteller #1, Matthew Watson as Catapillar – Dornmouse - Storyteller #2, Preston Noble as King & Madhatter, A’Laura Wood as March Hare & Storyteller #3, and Emilea Maxey as Pigeon & Gardner. The audience really enjoyed a great performance and it’s great to see our youth becoming involved in theater.

Georgia-Pacific is hoping to give some relief to area firefighters as they continue to battle an active fire season in Texas. The extreme hot weather has resulted in fire departments seeing a significant spike in brush fires—and with limited resources—most volunteer fire departments are feeling the heat when it comes to keeping operations running smoothly during one of the driest seasons in the state’s history.
