West Sabine Trunk or Treat...

Body
West Sabine Elementary students enjoyed a Spooktacular day at their Trunk or Treat celebration on Friday! Lots of candy and goblins everywhere. The scariest part (especially for the youngest kiddos) was the school bus! Entering through steps leading up through the back emergency hatchway with smoke billowing out of it, the door would close and the bus would start rocking back and forth as spooky goblins of all sorts would scare the kiddos. Didn’t take long for word to spread about the frights awaiting in that bus as one little girl was screaming at her friends climbing the steps to enter, “Don’t go in, there is a wolf in there!” Anderson A/C pictured

Trunk or Treat on the Square, huge success...

Body
Saturdays’ Trunk or Treat on the Square was a huge success as lots of folks flocked in for the candy and lots of spooky goblins. A great time had by all and there were costumes of all kinds, some so real looking that many of the younger kiddos were clinging to parents and second guessing if the candy was really worth getting that close to that scary thing!

The Monetization of Free Speech...

Body
What is truth? It is the most significant question ever asked. It is a question that finds its way into countless debates on a myriad of subjects. And it is a question that PayPal knows the answer to...or so the company thinks. Just a few weeks ago, PayPal announced changes to its user policies. The politically atavistic company would start fining users up to $2,500 for “the sending, posting, or publication of any messages, content, or materials” that “promote misinformation”. The backlash to the policy change was immediate and intense. PayPal quickly addressed the controversy, stating it had published the rule change by “error”. Users of PayPal, however, should beware that the company remains committed to its woke, censorship agenda. Indeed, PayPal is just a single fish in a school migration toward monetary censorship.

Hemphill Beautiful...

Body
Artist Kristan Wood poses with her mural which is the first in a series that will grace Pineywoods Vineyard’s new location on the east side of the courthouse square. The funds For the murals were approved by the Board of the Great EastTexas Outdoor Fest. The festival was originally formed several years ago to enhance economic development. Some of the funds were left after the organization dissolved and the board felt this was a great opportunity to provide something for the community. Because the murals are designed to be changed seasonally, we needed a way to hold the boards to the brick. The brackets were crafted by local welder Levi Cryer (C-Arrow Services). Look for more additions coming soon.
