Let them be Little

Body
All I want for Christmas is… I am so thankful that I am alive to spend Christmas with Mr. Randy, and my daughters, and their husbands, and stepdaughter, and her husband, and all seven of my precious grandchildren that I honestly can’t fathom wanting anything else under my tree. Many of my classmates from high school and college are no longer here to celebrate the earthly pleasures of holding grandchildren or sharing a pizza with a spouse.

Improving Toledo Bend Together

Body
A crew from Texas Parks and Wildlife made use of a new piece of equipment Thursday while setting 10 more fish attractors in Housen Bay. The 30', custom built aluminum barge was built in Indiana, and features a hydraulic front deck to make unloading those bulky or heavy loads easier. This boat is intended for use by any of the 15 TPWD stations statewide. On this day, the boat was on Toledo, and the loads were 3'x3'x10' pvc frames finished with several yards of French drain line, designed to provide hiding locations for small fish, which then attract larger fish, which then attract Toledo Bend anglers.

New Feed Store in Rosevine...

Body
There is a new feed store in the Rosevine area, and it carries all the specialty feeds and needs of the 4H and FFA kiddos raising show animals. In 2010, Stephanie Welch, owner of Rusty Spur Ranch was busy raising approximately 200 breeder goats and registered brahma cattle on their ranch in Hollister, Texas. Getting quality feed for show animals was a constant and futile battle. After doing some research and careful planning, they sold the ranch in Hollister, moved to the local area, and became a dealer for ADM (the best food supply on the market for show animals), and started Rusty Spur Ranch Distribution Feed & Supply. Their address is 6400 State Highway 103 in Bronson, Texas 75930, and Stephanie can be reached at 832-728-7755. Stephanie is going to great lengths to work closely with 4H and FFA kids raising show animals and invites them to check her out.

Hemphill Church of Christ

Body
“How Does The Christian Face Death and Decay?” With boldness! In 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 the Bible says, “Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outward is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory for beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things that are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are temporal.”

Conflict at the Outhouse

Body
While my eight-year-old brother Bill was “being comforted” in our Outhouse one day in 1941, I devised a fun plan to shock him. Behind the outhouse was a large patch of dry goat weeds--- (also known as 'yin yang huo' in Chinese medicine.) I grabbed a handfull of these bristly weeds and slipped up behind the outhouse. Then I raked Bill a couple of times and loudly hollered, “E-yahh!”

Did you notice?

Body
I was about to go back into the house from the front porch. Then, I noticed two things. My glider needed to be cleaned; and the legs on my wrought iron set were rusted. The table was clear, but both chairs had rust on their legs. This set had been something that I’d always wanted. My kids had given it to me making it even more valuable. I had to do something to stop this! In a humid climate like ours, rust can grow quickly. Then, in time, it would rust through the chair legs, and they would break.
