New lights on Square...

The new ligts have been hung on the Hemphill Square and many of the road name signs have been replaced by the City of Hemphill. Visit the Reporter’s Facebook page to see videos of the changing lights, pictured left. They will be ready for Patriotic Weekend in Red, White and Blue.

Hemphill Little Theatre 'Night, Mother'...

Patrons have been asking for a Drama production, and they got that, and then some, with the Hemphill Little Thetre presentation of Night, Mother. With the subject matter, suicide, not suitable for ages under 16, Rachael Sanders as Jessie Cates, and Leanne Hinkle as Thelma Cates, delivered their best performances to date, leaving the audience spellbound in their seats (many with tears flowing) for almost a full minute after the closing on-stage bows were given. *Note: You’re not meant to deal with sadness alone. Reach out to connect with people who care. If you’re struggling with feeling sad or depressed, you’re not alone. Hemphill ISD School Board meets for June

Thursday, June 15, the HISD School Board met in the Admin Office for their regular session with the following members present: Kim Scales, Andrea Procella-Heslip, Carl Beall Jr., Gary Parks and Dale Wilkerson. Tammie Cox was absent. Also present were Stephen English, Kelli Barnett, Amanda McClelland, Stephanie Harkness, Scott Dyer, Stephanie Wilkerson, Chanda Pattillo and Johanna Vickers.

Dr. Mills Speaks at June Meeting of Sabine Chamber

After a prayer and a fine meal of Texas Joes BBQ provided by Dr. Karen Mills of Hearing Solutions, and pledge to the flag, the Chamber introduced it’s newest member Keen Properties. Keen Properties also just happens to be the company that bought the building that the Chamber of Commerce is presently holding its monthly meetings.

Stephanie Welch of the Rusty Spur Ranch Feed Store at the intersection of FM1592 and Hwy 103, has now opened RSR Country Cuisine at their location serving a full menu of items listed under Not That Hungry, to Kinda Hungry, to Starving, offering appetizers, hot wings, burgers, tacos, and baskets with fried catfish, butterfly shrimp, crawfish tails, or country chicken strips. And Tuesdays are RSR Street Tacos day when you can enjoy pork, chicken, or beef fajita tacos! The food truck is parked right out front of the feed store so if your belly is growling for some good Country Quisine, head out to Rusty Spur Ranch.
