PCC repeals Ordinance 255, discusses TXDOT widening Hwy. 96

The Pineland City Council met in regular session October 17 with a moderate agenda. After the September meeting minutes and accounts payable were approved along with the quarterly investment report, it was on to departmental reports which were unanimously approved as well. The first agenda item regarded changing the November meeting date to November 14, which was unanimously approved.

TPWD Seeks Public Comment for Proposed Carcass Movement

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is seeking public comment before its November Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission meeting on proposed changes to carcass disposal regulations. TPWD will take public comment on the following proposed changes to the carcass movement and disposal regulations for all Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) susceptible species, with input considered before any action by the commissioners at their November meeting.

Last Week the West Sabine FFA and FCCLA took their annual trip to the State Fair in Dallas. This annual event is one that is eagerly looked forward to each year. This event has been a tradition since the 1960’s when Mr. And Mrs. Crocker, the Ag teacher and home economics teacher) first attended the fair. We had 70 students and chaperones attend along with 100’s of other schools and 1,000’s of students from across the state.
