This is Texas

Body
None of us in our right minds can imagine the horror of seeing a wall of rushing muddy water about to engulf cars, buildings, trees and people. God willing we will never have to know this nor will we ever have to suffer the heartbreak of knowing our loved ones survived, or perished in, this kind of catastrophe.

Devastation in Texas: Flash Flood Tragedy Strikes on July 4

Body
Sitting in silence this morning, I try to steady my breath and clear my mind. I’ve turned off the television, but I can’t unhear the news, can’t unsee the devastation. So, I sit, in silence and let the tears fall. Texas, my Texas is devastateddrowning in sorrow, so much loss, so much destruction. This moment is weightedso heavy, the space so thick with grief, but we must sit here. We must hold it in our arms and breathe it deep into our lungs. I haven’t been able to process much yet, but amidst the tears, I haven’t stopped praying. I want to write more, but my feelings are too loud, so today, I will instead report on what we know.
