Giving and Receiving

Body No, it isn’t Christmas yet, but many of us are already planning for it. Family and friends, giving and receiving.

Memories and Musings

Body If you are a stickler for etiquette, you know that every courteous gentleman will always remove his hat or cap upon entering a building. This rule applies to ALL hats – no ball cap or beanie is exempt.

“Wint Going”

Body While I was a student pastor of the Bonaldo Baptist Church in Nacogdoches County (Texas), I picked up the Buster brothers on my way to church every Sunday morning. I’d dared go no further than the front gate because of the yard full of yellow cur dogs that wanted to bite me.
“Wint Going”

Detour!

Body I had been to see the doctor in Lufkin. Now, I was on the way home. Tired in my body, all I wanted to do was get home and in my favorite recliner! This is an hour’s drive and I was counting down the miles.

Memories and Musings

Body by Neal Murphy Have you ever hear someone say about a person, “He’s as stubborn as a mule?” Or perhaps even you have been called “mule headed” by others. I think we all know what the meaning of the word is, but are mules really stubborn?

Postscript

Body My sister sends a text, telling me she is making lasagna, and asks if I will bring a cake. “Sounds great!” I readily agree.

Toilet Paper...Over or Under?

Body When you walk into your bathroom you probably aren’t paying much attention to the toilet paper until you reach for it. When you finally go to tear a sheet off, you may notice if the roll is run with the paper facing over or underneath.

What Did God Think?

Body Soon after I preached my first sermon in Center, Texas, the pastor of The Baptist Church in Hornbeck, La. Invited me to preach an evening service for him. The next Saturday I “thumbed a ride” from a soldier on his way back to his unit at Fort Polk, La.
