Congratulations to Jake Drennan, Kane Ross and Caden Wright for qualifying to compete in the Bassmaster High School National Championship on Kentucky Lake in Tennessee this summer! Only the top 250 teams in the Nation earn a spot to fish this national championship — and that is a HUGE accomplishment! Sabine County is proud of your hard work, dedication, and the way you represent! Nationals bound!!! They earned 8th and 10th place overall this weekend in the Bassmasters Open on lake Sam Rayburn! .

Sunday morning at The Refuge Church in Milam, TX was full of celebration, worship, the Word and eleven baptisims. What a wonderful day! The Refuge invites you to come and worship with us and study God’s Word. Sunday Mornings at 10:30 a.m. and Wednesdays at 6:00 for supper with bible study starting at 6:30. Youth, Children and Adult ministries available.

CHIPS, THE WAR DOG

Shortly after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, the “Dogs For Defense” program was established by the federal government. A few dogs were utilized in World War One and were amazingly efficient soldiers, including Sgt. Stubby who was the most decorated war dog in history. The government decided to put out the word to civilian dog owners that the military was looking for a few good dogs.
