Every Friday found myself and Lee Pardue in the company car making sales calls to our more productive agents. I was employed by an insurance company based in Burlington, NC at the time. Lee was my Underwriting Manager. Since I was new to the company these trips were a good way of meeting our agents.

On June 16, 2025, the Sabine County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Hemphill Police Department responded to an unscheduled and unexpected test of the Hemphill Independent School District emergency alert which was broadcast over the Sheriff’s Department radio via an automated system. The automated broadcast indicated that there was an emergency at the High School. Deputies and Officers arrived within two minutes to the High School.

When exploring By Local think less store front and more treasure box. Mugs hanging neatly from panels of antique doors that practically beg to come home with you, along with the pottery. The setup has all the charm of a country interior designer, think Emily June Spanos. It’s the kind of space where the display is just as tempting as the item itself.

The Patricia Huffman Memorial Columbia Museum unboxed some amazing treasures last week. Our longtime robotics coordinator Ellen Mills is pictured above inspecting our new sets of LEGO Education Spike™ Prime components to be used in the museum’s annual Columbia Memorial Robotics Competition.
