The Sabine County Sheriff's Office is aware of a currently circulating scam involving toll road fees. The scammers typically will send a text message advising you that there are unpaid fees associated with your vehicle. They do not list vehicle information and advise you that your license plates will be suspended, along with your driving privileges and the possibility of being arrested.

Tracy A. 'T.A.' Lane of Pineland, a funeral director at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, attended the 139th Texas Funeral Directors Association (TFDA) convention June 8-11, 2025, in Galveston. During the past year, Lane served as a member of TFDA's media relations and convention site committees. (Hemphill, Texas) During the evening hours of June 24, 2025, Deputies from the Sabine County Sheriff's Office were conducting a fugitive investigation in the 300 block of Mott Road in Brookeland, Texas.
