UNDERSTANDING POLLINATION FOR NATIONAL POLLINATOR WEEK – JUNE 20-26 Pollination is such an important but often overlooked part of fruit and vegetable production. Sometimes calls will come in where someone asking why their fruit or vegetable crop hasn’t produced.

HCC holds flag ceremony...

Jim Waller, Paul Cassidy, and Curtis Buckner of the VFW Post 10351 of Sabine County raise the colors! HCC received a new flag on June 14th during the Flag Day ceremony. Taps was played during the retrieval of the old flag, and the National Anthem was played during the raising of the new flag.

HHS ceramic art class projects

Hemphill High School art and ceramic students finished the 2022 school year with appreciation projects for community businesses. Students were given the assignment by their teacher (Heidy Griffin) to work in groups and choose businesses within our community to construct out of clay.

SCLLA meeting The Sabine County Landholders and Lease Owners Assoc. summer meeting has been set for June 28th at 6:00 pm in the Sabine County courthouse.

Water party at Legacies...

Residents at Legacies Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hemphill enjoyed a Water Party on Friday, June 17th. Hot dogs and snow cones were enjoyed, as well as a constant barrage of water balloons and blasts from water cannons. It was hot, so nobody complained!

Veterans report for Commisioners

The regular meeting of the Commissioners Court of Sabine County was opened on June 13 with the prayer and Pledge of Allegiance, followed by approval of the previous meetings minutes. There were no line-item transfers or budget amendments to consider.
