Pineland Named “Sawmill Capital of Texas” by State Legislature

PINELAND — The Town of Pineland has officially been designated the “Sawmill Capital of Texas,” following action by the Texas Legislature earlier this year. A ceremony commemorating the designation was held Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, at West Sabine High School, bringing together state officials, industry representatives, and local leaders to celebrate Pineland’s deep-rooted legacy in the lumber industry.
