My favorite book

Body
Mornings always find me grabbing my Bible. I love to read. But I like to read at least ten chapters in it; before I read anything else. As I pick it up; part of it falls out. This poor book, is falling apart. One whole section, is separated from the rest. It just won’t stay in place.

Among the Pines

Body
Once while walking down a street in Caracas, someone stopped me to ask where I was from. I didn't understand the question; my Spanish was terrible. A friend translated. I was perplexed as to why a stranger would want to know where I was from. Spontaneously, I answered 'Rosevine!' Knitting his eyebrows together, he asked me if that was in Canada. I laughed and said, 'No, Texas.'

Tournament Bass Fishing Season

Body
Almost anticipated as much as the start of deer season, local anglers look forward to the start of the new tournament bass fishing season to start, and it starts in January. Sabine County is full of folks that believe they are good “sticks” and are itching for the season fishing trails to start up and get a chance to get out on the water and prove they have what it takes to compete against their peers. Between Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn, there are lots of “Open” bass tournaments, as well as actual tournament trails to consider competing in.
