Eaves attends tourism meeting at SFA...

Cathy Eaves is our local contact person for tourism at the Sabine County Chamber of Commerce and is actively working on many projects to promote tourism in Sabine County. Her diligence toward advancing tourism is being recognized and was invited to attend, as one of the selected Small Towns-Rural Travel Panel panelist, the Texas Forest Country Travel & Tourism Conference held at the Baker Pattillo Student Center Grand Ballroom at Stephen F. Austin on May 3rd. The focus of the panel was “Finding Opportunities in Rural Deep East Texas”. Congratulations Cathy for representing Sabine County!

The Sabine County Republican Party will have its monthly meeting on the 2nd Thursday, May 11th @ 6:30 pm at the Chamber of Commerce office in Hemphill. Spring cleaning Centerview Cemetery Association Meeting will hold their meeting at 10:00 AM and have our regular annual business meeting following with a fellowship meal.

I was driving down the back-road, on my way to Sunday School. This is lovely country. Farms along the way have cows, horses or goats grazing in their fields. On my left, there was a bunch of cows of various colors, white, black and some beige looking ones. I noticed one that was different from any; I’d ever seen before. It was black, with a white stripe down its back. It was exactly the same size all the way across.

National Day of Prayer...

Sabine County showed up in crowds to take part in the National Day of Prayer movement happening across the world. You could see kids from all different ages to the oldest members of the community. Bro. Charles Watson Youth Pastor at Hemphill_First Baptist Church put together the program. The program prayed for any and everything around the world, even our small community needs.
