“ And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest.” Psalms 55:6 “I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.” Psalms 23:6 As usual, our backyard is filled with doves. When we moved to San Augustine years ago, we had only Mourning Doves, but now we also have Inca Doves, Collared Doves and for the past two years, White-wing Doves. All three have certain things in common. When we walk up on them, they all burst up swiftly on the take-off and and within seconds are across the big field behind the house. They fly up so quickly that they sometimes inadvertently drag their eggs from the nest as they fly upwards. When I see them disappear across the field, I more clearly understand David’s words, “If I had the wings of a dove, I would fly away.”

Salutatorian... High Honor ...

Over the weekend if you weren’t out at the Sabine County Rodeo Arena you missed out. The Sabine County Go Texans put on their very first Spring Fest and it was a complete success all the way around.

Senior year for Hunter Murphy proved to be the best one yet. This past weekend at the 2A State Track meet, the Tiger high jumper went for the gold and got it! Murphy beat his personal best and set a new school record for West Sabine by clearing 6’9”. Yes, the record he shattered was his own, proving that everyday, your greatest competition is yourself!

Rambling Thoughts Sometimes, I feel like a Mama Hen protecting her chicks. My passion is teaching small children.

Sale on the Trail was in full swing this weekend and crowds showed up in droves all along the sale route to enjoy the festivities and find that unique or special gift that they never knew they have been wanting or needing! The carnival like atmosphere also included some really nice eats and snacks to enjoy while perusing the many booths with treasures to buy.
