Distractions

Body The painful test was finally over and I was on my way home. I had only known; I had a doctor’s appointment. I didn’t know there was to be, such a test. So, I had thought it would be safe, to go alone. I wasn’t prepared for the needles they used in my feet and legs.

Body As we all know San Augustine County is experiencing a rush of activity from oil companies who are drilling for gas from the Haynesville Shale formation. It appears that our county was the object of intense interest for the same back in the 1890s.

Body I left Amarillo in 1968 to return to Hemphill, Texas to fish a couple of days with my friend Forest Ranger Lew Whitaker. Toledo Bend Reservoir was still filling up and the fishing was at its best.

Pet Talk

Body Texas A&M University veterinarians recently treated a dog with the largest salivary gland tumor ever seen at the Small Animal Teaching Hospital (SATH). The dog, named “Jake from State Farm,” was brought in by a rescue organization but has since been adopted into a loving home.

Sabine County Goes to the Cloud

Body The Commissioners Court of Sabine County held it’s regular meeting on June 26, and after the opening prayer and pledge to the flag, approved the minutes of the last meeting. There were no line item transfers or budget amendments to consider.
