It’s a new school year for Hemphill ISD and class is in session. Big things are happening for the Hornets. The new Middle School Building is almost completed and Meet the Teacher for Middle School and High School is scheduled for Aug. 21. by Kenny Wick The WSISD held a “special called” meeting of the Board of Trustees of the West Sabine Independent School District on Thursday, August 10th at 6:00 p.m. After calling the meeting to order, and establishing a quorum was present, proceeded with the pledge to the American and Texas flags.

Local talent and totally adorable fiddle player Luke Moody was selected to perform at The John Ritter Tribute Showcase held at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame and on Friday he brought the house down. Pictured above with his trophy for Fan Favorite, Moody proved he has pipes and personality. Look out Country Music! This kid is coming to fill their shoes.

After the prayer, pledge, and approval of minutes of the previous meeting, the Chamber welcomed new members Damon Watson, AJK Properties, and Unlimited Docks, as well as various visitors to the meeting.
