Even though this pond was posted and guarded with a shotgun, my brothers and I were able to sneak in and fish it for many years. It’s fat bass and goggle-eyed perch made crawling on our bellies through a pine thicket well worth the trouble. And fortunately, we could see the Caretaker before he could see us.

I was shaving the other morning and I noticed something – my ears looked larger than I remembered. I examined them closely and sure enough, my ears are larger in my old age. Then I noticed my nose, it, too, is getting bulbous. Could my nose and ears still be growing? No one told me about that aspect of aging.

Major League Fishing will kick off the sixth season of the Bass Pro Tour in Many, Louisiana, Jan. 30 through Feb. 4, showcasing the top anglers in the sport of professional bass fishing at the B&W Trailer Hitches Stage One at Toledo Bend Presented by Power-Pole.

SC Economic Development Council meets at Courthouse

The Sabine County Economic Development Council (SCEDAC) chaired by Charlie Dromgoole (pictured above right) held a meeting at the Sabine County Courthouse on Tuesday, January 23rd. County Judge Daryl Melton gave an update on the Broadband project stating that the cable installation is coming along nicely and that they anticipate being able to start hooking up to peoples homes sometime in March.
