Wayne Lewis Seal, aged 91, of the Fairmount Community of Hemphill, passed away on July 19, 2026, in San Augustine. Born on September 23, 1934, in Glenmora, Louisiana, to parents, Wayne and Lona Lillian Lewis Seal, Wayne spent most of his life as a dedicated pipefitter and welder with UA Local 195. A longtime resident of Sabine County, after moving from Orange, Wayne was known for his love of the outdoors, particularly fishing and hunting. He was also fond of riding his side x side around his neighborhood, where he enjoyed engaging with his community. Wayne cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought immense joy into his life.

Wayne was a member and elder of Community Fellowship Church in the Fairmount community. He actively participated in church activities, including mowing the churchyard and organizing the men’s breakfast, demonstrating his commitment to his faith and community.

He is survived by his daughter, Sabrina Seal Sowell and her husband, Van, of San Augustine; sisters, Margaret Seal McKee and her husband, Glenon, of Rosepine, LA; grandchildren, Chuck Mouton and his wife, Amy, and Josh Mouton and his wife, Tess; and great-grandchildren, Anna, Zoe, Cash, Addalyn, Austin, Kiley, and Ellie. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Billie B. Creech Seal, and his sister, Betsy Cox and her husband, Jimmy.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Starr Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Community Fellowship Church-Fairmount, 350 Toledo Hills Drive in Hemphill, Texas, with Bro. Daniel Serenil and Bro. Allen Duncan officiating.

Burial will follow at Rosepine Cemetery in Rosepine, Louisiana. Pallbearers include Glenon McKee, Todd McKee, Morris Cox, Jeffrey Cox, Jason Cox, and John Welborn. Honorary pallbearers are John Fontenot, Lee Duhon, Jason Sowell, Casey Sowell, and Joey Sowell.
