Walter Matlock, age 73, of San Augustine, departed this physical life on Tuesday, June 02, 2026, at Christus Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler. Mr. Walter Matlock was born November 21, 1952.

He is survived by two daughters; Candice Mosby (Derwin) of Houston, and Brandice McClelland (Michael) of Nacogdoches, two brothers; Jessie Ray Matlock of Hempstead, and Kenneth Matlock of San Augustine, two sisters; Dyann Hall (Joe) of Hempstead, and Sharon Kerl (Don) of Houston, six grandchildren. As well as a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viewing held Friday, June 12, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Garner & Son Chapel.

Funeral service held Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 11 a.m., Roberts Baptist Church, Interment: Haley Bush Cemetery, Rev. Tory Barnes, Officiating.
