Timothy Marlin Cunningham
Timothy Marlin Cunningham, known affectionately as Tim, passed away on November 14, 2024, in Hemphill, at the age of 60. Born on May 18, 1964, in San Augustine, to James Marlin Cunningham and Lora Berniece Robinson Cunningham, Tim grew into a man deeply rooted in his community and the simple joys of life.
Tim graduated from Buna High School and lived in Bronson since 1982. His career as a forester for Temple-Inland marked a lifelong commitment to the natural world until his retirement. Beyond his professional life, Tim was an active member of the Redland Masonic Lodge #3 in SanAugustine and participated in numerous Bass Clubs, reflecting his passion for fishing, hunting, and woodworking.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his father, James M. Cunningham of Bronson; his wife, Karen Cunningham of Bronson; his son, Mark Cunningham and wife, Jordan, of Nacogdoches; his brother, James (Jimmy) Cunningham and wife, Melinda, of Warren; and his sister, Ann Perry and husband, David, of Melrose along with numerous nieces and nephews. His mother, Berniece Cunningham, preceded him in death.
Visitation held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.
Funeral services began at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at First Baptist Church, 301 Mann Street, Hemphill, Texas, under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Bo Owens officiating.
Burial at Magnolia Springs Cemetery, with Wesley Cunningham, Josh Perry, Lance Perry, Curtis Bridges, Brent Murray, and Aaron Tidwell serving as pallbearers. Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill,Texas, is assisting with the arrangements. Tim's life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew him, as a man who cherished his family, his friends, and the great outdoors.
