Sondra Kaye Byley Stapp
Sondra Kaye Byley Stapp, 62, of Bronson, Texas passed away at her residence Wednesday, January 25, 2023. She was born in Pineland, on June 19, 1960 to Benny D. Byley, Sr. and Kathryn McBride Byley. She was a lifelong resident of Bronson and a graduate of West Sabine High School. She was a charter member of Sandy Creek Missionary Baptist Church and she loved to play piano there. She worked many years pipelining and was a member of Pipeliners Union Local 798. After retiring, she owned and operated the Trading Post in Bronson for many years.
She was a free spirit with a creative and artsy mind. She loved drawing and painting and was great at decorating. She had an eye for finding and collecting antiques and arrowheads. She also had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by her mother, Kathryn Byley of Bronson; brothers, Benny Byley, Jr. of Bronson and Bradley Byley and wife, Sybil, of Hemphill; sister, Sharon Byley of Bronson; nieces, Chloe Byley and Dallas Hardy; and nephews, Josh Rush, Brian Rush and wife, Emily, Luke Byley and wife, Breia, Ahren Turner and Little Jay.
She was preceded in death by her father, Benny Byley, Sr.; grandparents, Wesley and Bea McBride and Herbert and Frankie Byley; and husband, Wayne Stapp.
Funeral services were held, January 28, in Sandy Creek Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Cooper and Bro. Leo Wright officiating.
Burial followed services in McBride Cemetery with Bro. Robert Byley Jr. officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Josh Rush, Brian Rush, Gary Byley, Luke Byley, Ahren Turner and Brad Phillips. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Harold 'Dinky' Byley, Ben Byley and Larry Corley.
