Shirley Chatham
Shirley Chatham, 70, of Broaddus, passed away Monday, May 16, 2022, at UT Health East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.
She was born Nov. 1, 1951, in Adkins (Bexar County) to parents, Delmer and Thelma (Moravitz) Muenster. She had lived in Broaddus since 1980 and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She worked several years in the food service industry and had formerly owned and operated Shirley's Restaurant in Broaddus.
She loved gardening and flowers. She also had a great love for her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her survivors include her husband, Andrew F. "Andy" Chatham of Broaddus; sons, Richard Nix and wife, Kathy of Hudson and Kevin Chatham and wife, Kristie of Lufkin; daughters, Sondra Payne and husband, Daniel and special friend, Gary Hoffman of Broaddus, Tammy Nix of Broaddus, Crystal Phillips and husband, John of Bronson and Sue Scaife and husband, Chris of Alabama; a sister, Annie Dennis of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Heather Nix, Justin Nix, Skye Nix, Lily Rogers, William Rogers, David Paul Rogers, Nicholas Rogers, Andrew Chatham, Dustin Chatham, Megan Chatham, Dakota Uherek, Zach Payne and Jana Hanks; and 20+ great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delmer and Thelma Muenster; brothers, Delmer George Muenster Jr., Robert Muenster and Fred Muenster; and a sister, Betty Sumner.
Funeral services were held May 20, at Trinity Baptist Church, Broaddus, with Pastor Don Lofton officiating and cremation followed.
Pallbearers included, Justin Nix, Dakota Uherek, William Rogers, David Paul Rogers, Steve Bryan, and Charles Wood.
