Shelton Lee Seilhan, 87, of Hemphill, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022, in Nacogdoches.

He was born in Iota, LA, on Sept. 20, 1934, to Isaac Seilhan and Honorine Leger Seilhan. He had served his country as a member of the United States Navy and later worked as a mechanic before retiring. Having previously lived in Orange, he had been a Sabine County resident for more than 40 years and was a member of St. Pius I Catholic Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, being outdoors, and family crawfish boils. He also liked woodworking, building furniture and rocking horses for the grandkids.

He loved having family get togethers and you could always find him sitting at the kitchen table in his favorite chair drinking coffee or a stiff drink.

He was preceded in death by his life partner and companion, Anne "Oma" Kroner; son, Jeff Seilhan; stepson, Shevin Cloud; stepdaughter, Shawne Moore; and sister, Agnes Ruth Docet.

He is survived by his sons, Randy Seilhan and family of Olympia, WA, and Rodney Seilhan and wife, Toby, of Hemphill; stepson, Tyson Cloud and wife, Candy, of Warren; brother, John Raymond Seilhan of Kentucky; sisters, Elnora Mae Miller and Rose Marie Smith, both of Louisiana; half-sister, Matilda, also of Louisiana; grandchildren, Jaimee, Jenelle, Justin, Brandon, Brandy, Shane, Cody, Justin, Chad, Drew, Josh, Ricky, Amber, Savanah, Emily, Ethan and Katelyn; and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held May 21, at Starr Funeral Home

Funeral services were held May 21, at Starr Funeral Home Chapel, Hemphill.

Burial followed services in Isaac Lowe Cemetery with Tyson Cloud, Ethan Cloud, Chad Pattillo, Drew Pattillo, Brandon Cloud and Shane Cloud serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearer was Justin Sielhan. Condolences and memories may be shared online at starrfu
