Ruby Joann Karpienski, 82, of Geneva, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Nacogdoches Medical Center in Nacogdoches.

She was born in Bronte, on Oct. 13, 1939, to Wilson Sharp and Juanita Medart Sharp. She was a resident of Corpus Christi, for many years before moving to Sabine County in 1982. She worked taking care of children as a nanny. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, reading and caring for her animals.

She is survived by her son, Guy Karpienski of Nacogdoches; daughters, Kelly Reynolds and husband, Ivy, of Hemphill and Mary Flowers and husband, Scott, of San Augustine; and grandchildren, Erin Karpienski, Celine Reynolds and Trey Reynolds.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Karpienski; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Karpienski.

Funeral services were held in Starr Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. David Williams officiating.

Burial will followed services to McMahan Chapel Cemetery in Geneva.
