Robert Calvin Burch
Robert Calvin Burch, affectionately known as 'Uncle Bob,' passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at the age of 74 in Lufkin. Born on January 3, 1950, in Houston, to Calvin Burch and Reba Lindsey, he spent his early years in San Augustine before making Rosevine his long-term home.
Robert's career as a skilled welder was marked by his membership in the Piledrivers Union, reflecting his dedication to his craft. Beyond his professional life, he was a devoted member of the Rosevine United Pentecostal Church.
Robert was known for his love of collecting many types of things, including antiques and his passion for taking pictures, always eager to preserve memories. His life was deeply rooted in family; he cherished the time spent with his nieces and nephews, who were central to his world.
Robert is survived by his brother, Robert Lindsey and wife, Tammy, of Bronson; nephew, Robert Eric Lindsey of Baytown; nieces, Tiffany Pangarakis-Michaud and husband, Dan, of Rosevine, Brandi Pangarakis of Nacogdoches, and Kimberly Lindsey Wallace and husband, Corey, of Baytown; along with numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Donald Lindsey, sister, Carolyn Burch Pangarakis, and niece, Kristal Pangarakis Page.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.
Funeral services were held Aug. 1, 2024, at Rosevine United Pentecostal Church, with Bro. Charles Stephens and Bro. Gordon Simmons officiating.
Burial followed in Whispering Pines Cemetery located in Rosevine. Pallbearers include Dan Michaud, Dustin Collins, John Pangarakis, B.J. Alex, Eric Lindsey, Corey Wallace, Seth Wallace, Alexander Wallace, Ty Lindsey, and Aiden Wallace.
