May 24, 1953 - January 7, 2026 In Loving Memory of Rita Jo Morgan Rita Jo Morgan, a woman of immense heart and spirit, passed away leaving behind a legacy of kindness, service, and a profound zest for life. Born to the late Charlie and Bertie Bragg, Rita spent her life dedicated to bringing joy to others. For more than 30 years, Rita was a cornerstone of the restaurant industry. For her, the work was never just about service; it was about the human connection. She found genuine fulfillment in making people happy, and over the decades, she became far more than a boss to those who worked alongside her. To many, she was a mentor, a confidante, and a lifelong friend.

Rita was known for a rare and admirable balance of character— she was famously generous, kind, and soft-hearted, yet possessed a firm strength when it was needed most. Throughout her journey, she remained a lifelong learner, constantly seeking greater knowledge and cultivating a more peaceful way of living.

At home, Rita’s heart belonged to her family and her beloved dog, Paris. She was the devoted mother of Jennifer Heinz and a loving mother-in-law to Brad Heinz. Her light will continue to shine through her cherished grandchildren, Ty and Brittany, and her 'bonus' loved one, Rebecca.

Rita is also survived by her brothers, Glenn, Allon, and Frankie Bragg, and her sisters, Frances Ann Miller and Janette Morningstar. She leaves behind their spouses and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members who were a vital part of her life.

Rita’s life was defined by the many friends she made and the countless people she helped along the way. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

A graveside service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10th, 2026 at New Hope Cemetery in Milam, Texas under the direction of Starr Funeral Home.
