Randy Wayne Hogan, aged 47, passed away on July 5, 2026, in Longview. Born on September 1, 1978, in Hemphill, he was the son of R. L. Hogan and Sue Nell Jones Hogan. Randy was a skilled mechanic at East Texas Power Sports in Lufkin, known for his passion for riding and working on buggies. His love for the outdoors extended to going to the lake with family, jet skiing and cooking, (he also enjoyed eating) often preparing meals for his grandchildren. He cherished time spent with his dog, Roxey, and was a member of Woden Baptist Church.

He leaves behind his wife, Dawn Hogan of Nacogdoches; son, Matthew Hogan and his wife, Kenzie, of Nacogdoches; daughter, Angel Hogan of Nacogdoches; stepdaughter, Kelly Holifield and her husband, David, of Hemphill; sister, DeLisa Johnson and her husband, Steve, of Nacogdoches. Randy was a proud grandfather to Kason Jolly, Langston Welch, Carter Holifield, Lane Hyden, Avery Hogan, Josi Hyden, and Stihl Hogan. He was preceded in death by his parents, R. L. and Sue Nell Hogan; brother, Michael Hogan, and stepson, JoJo Hogan.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street in Hemphill.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, in Starr Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.

Burial will follow at Lows Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers include Matthew Hogan, Jim Hogan, Chris Rawls, Cody Rawls, Steve Johnson, Justin Johnson, Josh Johnson, and David Holifield, with Kason Jolly serving as honorary pallbearer.

Starr Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Randy’s life and legacy will be remembered by all who knew him as a generous, spirited individual who lived his life with joy and dedication.
