Peggy Gene Allison, 77, of Hemphill, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Stone Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation in San Augustine.

She was born on Aug. 4, 1944, in Tupelo, to Robert Eugene Friend, Sr., and Betty Gene Baigent Friend. She was a member of the graduating class of 1962 in Jackson, MS, and resided in Oklahoma before moving to Sabine County 25 years ago. She worked as a recording clerk for the Sabine County Clerk's office before her retirement.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion, the V. F. W. and also, the D.A.V in Toledo Town. She enjoyed playing bingo and loved her cats.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald "Bo" Allison of Hemphill; son, Tommy Wilmoth and Teena Lee of Hemphill; step-son, Jerry Allison of Oklahoma; brother, Mike Friend of Florida; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Vernon Wilmoth.

Cremation arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home.
