Pauline Ann Sparks, 74, of Hemphill, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin.

She was born in Evergreen Park, IL, on Aug. 6, 1947, to August Drajci and Madeline Norkus Drajci. She was a long time resident of the Yellowpine Community, having previously resided in Alvin. She worked as retail manager for many years before retiring from Family Dollar in Hemphill and she attended Yellowpine Baptist Church.

She was a hoot! She had a great sense of humor and was a joy to her family. She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family, flower gardening and watching the squirrels and birds play and she loved to play her Slotomania game. But the one thing she would want you to know is that she was an huge LSU Tiger Fan. Geaux Tigers!

She is survived by her husband of nearly 30 years, Otis Paul Sparks of Yellowpine; son, Steven Van Hyfte and wife, Amy, of Lafayette, LA; daughters, Tina Thomas and husband, Jason, of Vidor, Kimberly Woods of San Angelo, Carissa Hanks and husband, Joe, of San Augustine; and Kellie Griffin and husband, Donald, of Hemphill; step-son, Shad Sparks and wife, Sandy, of China; step-daugher, Scharla Wagstaff and husband, Justin, of Shelbyville; sister, Linda Lambert and husband, Jamie, of Conroe; niece, Jessica Lambert; 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home of Hemphill
