Pamela Caraway Harder, known affectionately as Pam, passed away on November 1, 2025, at the age of 67 in Hemphill. Born on August 15, 1958, in Texas to Joseph Glendon Dettling, Sr. and Dolores Caraway Dettling. Pam dedicated a significant portion of her life to the literary community as the Library Director at Beaumont Public Library in Beaumont.

In retirement, Pam cherished a tranquil life, reveling in the joys of spending time with her husband and the quiet moments that define a life well-lived.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Harder of Hemphill, her brothers, Joseph Glendon Harder, Jr. and wife, Sharon and Gregory Paul Dettling and wife, Sharon; her sisters, Virginia Ann Morgan and Glendoline Dettling Martin.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Graveside services to honor Pam's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Harper Chapel Cemetery in Hemphill, Texas. Bro. Floyd Wright will officiate the ceremony. Pam's life and legacy will be celebrated by family, friends, and all those she touched throughout her years.
