Mozell Byley, 84, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023 in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born on May 8, 1938 in Hemphill to Hubert Henry West and Minnie Herrin West. She was a lifelong resident of Sabine County and a member of East Mayfield Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and all kinds of plants. She also loved her birds and poodles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, B. B. Byley. She is survived by her son, Mike Byley and wife, Carla, of Snow, OK; daughters, Sherie Cochran and husband, Jeff, of Owasso, OK and Judy Byley of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Tyler Crow and wife, Margie, Clint Byley and wife, Amber, Laura Cochran, and Kevin Cochran and wife, Mai; and great grandchildren, Titus, Todd, Truett, Case and Royce.

Graveside services were held, Feb. 20, in Hemphill Cemetery on South Texas Street under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.

Visitation will held from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Starr Funeral Home.
